County Donegal is one of the hidden gems of Ireland, it’s steeped in history and has some of the most amazing beaches and surfing in Ireland. Located on the very edge of Europe; its wild and rugged scenery is breath-taking. Donegal also has some beautiful historical castles, a large national park that is stunning and best of all some of the friendliest people in the World!
Donegal has quite a few beaches and they are all idyllic but our favourite is our very own – Tullan Strand beach here in Bundoran. In our opinion, It’s as close to perfect that you can get!
Donegal’s coastline has to be seen to be believed, its wild, dramatic and mystical. Slieve League is one of our favourite spots where you feel like you are as close to nature as is possible.
Ireland has lots of historical castles and Donegal has a few. Our favourite is Donegal Castle in Donegal Town a fully resorted Jacobean style castle rebuilt in the 16th Century.
Glenveagh National Park is one of six national parks in Ireland, with 16,000 acres, it even has its own Lake and very impressive Castle.
Ireland is steeped in history and the Irish Famine was one very famous parts of our history that none of us want to forget. The Doagh Famine Village in Donegal has kept the history of the Irish Famine alive and is worth a visit.
