We caught up with Aidan Browne from Bundoran Surf Co our partner surf school to ask him a few questions…

4Could you tell us about your surf school Aidan?

We are a local business based in Bundoran and have been open for over 10 years now – since 2005.  We have been working directly with DELS now for 5 years.

Where do you bring the students for lessons?

We bring all our students to Tullan, Rossnowlagh and Streedagh beaches. All a short distance from the DELS school.

GOPR0931.MP4_20150820_095302.101Do the students need to have surfed before they join the group?

No, students don’t need to have been on a surf board before they start lessons with us.

How do you ensure all students are safe in the water?

Students are with our professional instructors at all times and divided into groups based on surfing ability. Beginner surfers stay in waist depth water.

GOPR0887.MP4_20150820_093933.808How good is the surf in Bundoran?

Best in Europe on a good day. At other times still very good and very consistent with good waves all year.

Do you have a favourite memory of/about DELS students?

They are very pleasant to work with and are here to learn English and surfing so they really enjoy what they are doing during the activities.
