When in Strandhill go to the Killaspugbrone church and cemetery – Killaspugbrone was founded in the fifth century by Saint Patrick. (Directions- From the promenade, take a right, the trail leads into a loop over to the church and cemetery. The trail is signposted; the Killaspugbrone loop. It is about a 10-minute walk from the promenade.)

While in Strandhill, go to Shells Café and Little Shop – Follow the aromas of freshly ground coffee beans down past the sea and into laid-back Shells (Directions – Located on the promenade.)

Have an ice cream from Mammy Johnston’s – enjoy some award winning homemade ice cream. (Directions – Located on the promenade)

Visit Michael Quirke’s woodcarving shop – Here you can watch figures being carved of local people such as W.B. Yeats and Irish Mythology . (Directions – Located on Wine Street)

Enjoy some shopping in Sligo town – Explore the streets and alleyways of Sligo town while shopping. The main shopping street is O’ Connell street, from here you can access the Johnston’s court shopping centre and Quayside shopping center.

Explore the Made in Sligo Craft Trail – The trail is made up of 15 gifted craft workers who have come together to promote the very best quality of Sligo craft and design. You can find out more information about the trail from the tourist office(Directions – Located at the bottom of O’Connell Street.)

Visit Sligo County Museum – The museum’s collection consists of memorabilia and artefacts to do with W.B. Yeats, Countess Markievicz and Eva Goore Booth. (Directions- The museum is located on Stephen street.)

Visit the Model Gallery– The Model is one of Ireland leading art centers. The award winning building is home to numerous collections of Niland Art. (Directions – Located on The Mall Street. Refer to Map)
