Every group is different, at DELS we understand that one size doesn’t fit all!!

Everyone wants something different from their language journey. But the one thing that everyone wants is safety and security. So at DELS we offer both, Home Stay and Residential accommodation options for groups all year round.

DELS is one of the few schools to be able to offer year round residential accommodation. Our Hosts are amazing with many of them having worked with us for over a decade. But we will revisit those in another post.

With summer camp kicking off this month we want to shine the light on our Junior residential accommodation.

Surfers Bay is ‘headquarters’, its where we host a lot of our activities and its where our coordinator team are based.

The building is based over three stories and its owned and managed by the school year round.

It has eight ‘boys’ rooms on the ground floor with spacious communal bathrooms that have private showers. The camp Supervisors and Coordinator offices are here also – so there’s always someone on hand to help and support.

On the first floor there are two bedrooms which are normally reserved for group leaders and which share a bathroom. There is also a large longue area with a pool table, library, board games, smart TV and fully equipped kitchen which is always open for students.

The first floor also has a large ‘activity room’ with air hockey, table tennis, musical instruments, table football and much more. So every evening there is lots of space for students to relax and unwind after a busy day of activities and learning.

The top floor is 10 ensuite ‘girls rooms’ which command great views out over Bundoran and Donegal Bay.

At surfers Bay all rooms come with linen and towels provided. Our cleaning team come into clean rooms on Wednesdays and change sheets on Saturdays, with common areas cleaned daily.

Our coordinator team are on hand every morning to help set up breakfast for students and to brief leaders on the day ahead.

The team are always on hand to support groups at the residence with a 24 hour response.

Surfers Bay is also home to our Organic Garden – where we do workshops with students and from where we run our annual tree planting initiative.

Every year we aim to plant 100 native Irish trees to offset our businesses footprint. So if your group are unsure about the Home Stay option and are maybe a bit younger and looking for a safe and fun place to stay to couple with their experience then Surfers Bay might just be the perfect option.
