When in Donegal Town, visit The Abbey of The Four Masters – While the ruins of Donegal Abbey do not reflect its original splendour, it’s ruins reveal the history of the once great foundation. The Abbey stood for more than two centuries despite being ransacked, burned and ravaged. It finally faced abandonment during the 17^th The Abbey is now open to the pubic and admission is free.
