A long time ago, there were two separate villages, Bundoran and Single Street, which were separated by the River Bradoge.
The town became a popular seaside destination for tourists when the wealthy Viscount Enniskillen built his summer residence, Bundoran Lodge. People journeyed from all over the country for its famous sea air and fresh water pools.

Fairy Bridges and the Wishing Chair

Legend has it that these formations are the work of the fairies. By the fairy bridges, there is also a man-made chair carved into O’Flaherty’s stone, a stone rumoured to be the grave of a local chieftain named O’Flaherty.
It is common practice to sit in the chair, look out to the sea and make a wish – but you must keep it private if you want it to come true!
